In this project, the client was working with an existing concrete ceiling where true recessed lighting was not feasible. The original intention was to achieve a clean, continuous linear lighting effect, but several constraints quickly became clear:
The ceiling structure could not be cut or modified, eliminating the possibility of recessed installation. At the same time, the client required a minimalist visual result without exposed fixtures or bulky surface-mounted profiles that would disrupt the architectural design. Traditional surface track systems were considered, but they were too visually prominent and did not meet the design expectation of a “flush ceiling” appearance.
To solve this, we proposed an ultra-slim surface-mounted track system designed specifically for low-profile architectural integration. The track is directly fixed onto the finished ceiling using screws, eliminating the need for ceiling modification while ensuring stable installation. Thanks to its extremely thin profile, the system visually disappears into the ceiling plane, creating a recessed-like lighting effect without any actual ceiling cavity.
This solution allowed the client to maintain the original ceiling structure while still achieving a high-end, continuous linear lighting design. The installation process was significantly simplified compared to recessed systems, reducing both labor time and construction complexity.
